Nvidia Treiber

Hey Leute, ich bin kompletter Neueinsteiger was Linux betrifft, aber ich habe einige Fragen die das OS betreffen. Linux mag ja alles sein, aber besonders Einsteigerfreundlich ist es unter keinen Umst?nden... :/

Als ich von Live CD gebootet habe lief alles Prima, Festplatten erkannt, Internet sofort da etc, aber nach der Installation auf der HD steh ich alle 10 Minuten vor gr??eren Problemen f?r die ich keine logische Ursache finden kann. Zuerstmal kann ich meine beiden Windows partitionen nichtmehr mounten, was ohne installation hervorragend funktioniert hat. Beim Versuch sie zu mounten er?ffnet sich folgender Fehler:

Ich will den Nvidia Treiber installieren. DOwnloade den von der Nvidia Page f?r x86 32bit
beende den xserver, sh Nvidia blablub alles klar. Installarion l?uft wunderbar, reboot... _nichts_ ist passiert, ausser dass ich nicht wie vorher 50Hz - 75hZ mnitorfrequenz angeben kann, sondern nun nurnoch 50-58 hZ... oO

ich tippe einfach mal das das an den beta treibern liegt!= m?sstet du aber in der xorgconf aber wieder ?ndern k?nnen! :wink:

ps wenn du ne ?ltere Grafikkarte hasst?? solltest du mal die treiber wechseln (71.84):idea: !!

ich hab die treiber von der nvidia homepage, von beta stand da nichts. mal abgesehen davon verlief die installation v?llig reibungslos, wenn ich nach der installation direkt init 5 mache gehts auch, aber wenn ich neustarte ist alles wie vorher.

oO noch jemand ne idee?

ich les mich schon seit stunden durch die linux foren, und wirklich ?berall steht was anderes, man soll in x11 irgendeine datei editieren.. die datei ist bei mir leer oO ..

in irgendwelchen walkthroughs von 2003 soll man noch einen kernel mit runterladen auf der nvidia seite (wo geht das bitte?) auf anderen seiten steht man soll mit apt get irgendwelche module downloaden..

ich will auf mein frisch installiertes knoppix system 5.01 von dvd einfach ein nvidia treiber installieren. und zwar den 32 bit f?r x86 mit dem klangvollen namen

kann mir bitte jemand sagen was ich falsch mache?

wie hast Du auf hd installiert?
knoppix-like oder debian-like ?
Knoppix-like w?rde erkl?ren, da? der Treiber nach dem reboot wieder rausfliegt.

okay das mit dem mounten hat sich gekl?rt.. ich hatte wirklich keine berechtigung. ist ja ne ntfs platte die unter windows l?uft, ich mounte sie jetzt immer manuell mit

die hd installation ist debian like, beim starten kommt jedenfalls das debian logo und beim installieren hab ich auch debian distri gew?hlt.
ich hab jetzt noch weiter gelesen und was ?ber xorg.conf gefunden die man editieren muss. ich wollte es ?ndern aber alles war schon von der installation so ge?ndert wie es in der readme verlangt war. der treiber installiert sich fehlerfrei, aber scheint dann beim starten einfach nicht ber?cksichtigt zu werden.

die logvile in /var(log/ gibts folgendes aus:

und in der datei ist alles richtig eingestellt. ich verzweifle

Hm, sieht eigentlich nicht so schlecht aus. An welcher Stelle kannst Du denn nur die 50-58 ausw*hlen? Steht im logfile irgendwas darueber, dass er bestimmte Aufloesungen oder Modelines nicht benutzen kann und warum?
